Random/Weird facts -
1. I'm very short sighted - have had to wear glasses since age 7 (wear contacts now)
2. Had a letter read out on air by BBC World Service whilst still living in South Africa
3. My degree is in History and Social Anthropology (have 2 majors rather than 1)
4. My favourite sweet is Marshmellows (don't ask me to share!!!)
5. Have lost 10lbs in weight since February 2008
6. Have a phobia of very loud noises (e.g. sound of gun shots or a balloon bursting)
7. I was introduced to blogging by Timsuzi

i share the short sight with you confuddled. when asked by a girlfriend at school (aged 10) if, following a visit to an optician - because i couldn't read the board any more - "do you need glasses?" my witty reply (well i thought it was) "nah, binoculars!"

We discovered my need for glasses when the school nurse phoned my mother and asked if I got home OK. (used to cycle home by myself even though I was only 7 yrs old). When my mother said yes and asked why she asked, the Nurse said that I was rather short sighted and my mother ought to take me to an optician!

Thanks for the congrats - got another 9lbs to go and then I'll be happy....
