Funny you should say that. As I was "up close and personal", it was one of the things I was wondering. They must have witnessed some pretty wierd, wonderful and exciting things during their lifetime.

It was. It was good to get out, wander round without feeling rushed, stopping and taking in the energy and atmosphere.
Picked up a few books on paganism which looked quite interesting. Being relatively new to the subject matter I have found it hard finding books aimed at someone who has just started the path of discovery.

Thinking about a previous conversation, have you thought of trying to enhance your Avebury images at all?

I took the liberty of pulling the contrast on this one a little and enhancing the colour depth... I hope you don't mind... just a suggestion. :)

I don't mind at all and thanks for the suggestion. I haven't "played" with my photo's before as I don't have any software. Now that I'm starting to take more photo's I guess it is worth me investing.

Actually there's some really good software out there you can have for free... legally too!

Let me know if you want some pointers. :)

Yes please!

There's an excellent package that was originally written for Linux users called Gimp. A version has been released for Windows users and there's a Mac version too.

Help files and tutorials are also available free - a great place to start before forking out hundreds of pounds on something like Photoshop. ;)

Bless you for this Usksider! I want to explore it later today.

You're most welcome Moonwoman. Feel free to PM me if I can be of any assistance. :)

Lovely!

Ah ... I feel as if I'm in the midst of the stones. Your pictures speak to me! These are the most amazing sacred stones!

I'm glad through my photo's you were able to share the journey. It was amazing being in the presence of the stones. Made me interested in finding other sacred stones in the UK and visiting them.

You are fortunate to be easily able to access a variety of "sacred places". I was reading last night how each place will have it's own unique energy. You might find some you will be more comfortable with than others.

I know the sacred place of stones that I prayed at in Hawaii had the effect of making me feel connected with all who had prayed there before... it was like I was among their spirits and we prayed for the same things - the health of those we hold dear, the love of various people, for forgiveness, grateful for ... that kind of thing.

I have been to some aboriginal/native stone circles and felt that similar connection to those who had gone before. To me it is a very humbling experience. I truly felt connected across the centuries.

You have no idea how grateful I am that you have shared your journey with me. Many others will benefit as well.

Hugs to you!
