Glastonbury

by Confuddled @ 2008-02-23 - 18:35:09

Well, I'm back in my B&B, sore feet and tired legs. I've wandered around country lanes, up the Tor and down, took my time wandering through Chalice Wells, spent far too much money on books (knew I would!), and wandered around the Abbey ruins. Now, I'm tired but still happy.

The weather, thank goodness, was not so cold as yesterday although it was very overcast. Not good light for photography, but that didn't stop me. So, here once again, is a sample of my day:

The Tor. Went up bright and early this morning and there was no-one at the top when I was there. The views were great but can imagine they'd be amazing when the skies are clear.

Chalice Wells. Even though the garden isn't at it's best this time of year, it was very peaceful and beautiful. Loved the little garden statues dotted around the place.

Finally, the Abbey (ruins) with the Tor in the background.

Well, that's been my long weekend. Highlight was definately the early morning access to Stonehenge. Tomorrow I'll drive back home a happy girl!

Ahhh Glastonbury *sound of penny dropping* I studied in Bath and got taken round Glastonbury a few times ..amazing energy in that place, we had a drink in the pub/cafe under the Tor did you go there? The ruins are amazing as well but if you are into standing stone you need to go here .. http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/lewis/calanais/index.html

The tourist board dont pay me (honest) they are very old older than stonehenge

Didn't find the pub/cafe you mentioned. Thanks for the link, they look amazing. Must admit that it's only fairly recently that I've "got into" ancient stones. I think it's because it's only in the last 18 months that I've become aware of the energy surrounding them.

I doubt I will ever make it there in person. I'm so grateful you shared your pictures and your feelings with us as you explored. I have 4 small stones from Glastonbury and from Stonehedge whose energy I treasure.

Bless you!

Whilst at Stonehenge I was drawn to a particular feather on the ground, so whenever I look at it, it reminds me of the wonderful experience.
